A Case of Pachydermoperiostosis
Abstract
Pachydermoperiostosis is a very rare hereditary disease characterized by hyperostosis, clubbing of fingers, coarse skin, furrowing, oiliness of the skin of the face, marked furrowing of the scalp, hyperhidrosis of the hands and feet and elephant feet. This condition affects males more often than females, and it's first evident is during adolescence. We report a case of pachydermoperiostosis in a 21-year-old male who developed mild clubbing of phalanges and spade-like enlargement of the feet and progrssive thickening of the skin of his face, palm and sole since puberty.
